September and October means Coho salmon fishing and our local fly shop promoted their first annual coho shootout. The contest was simple, catch, measure, and submit the largest Puget Sound region fish during the month of September. All fish must be caught on the fly and measured using the green tape measure.
I had a decent season of coming the e beaches and estuaries, even explored some new waters. It’s nice to be rewarded with the first prize of Helios 2 tip flex rod and a nice trophy. Maybe I’ll be able to break it in with the chums, which are just around the corner. Looking forward to chasing them as they can be brutes on small and sparsely tied clousers.
