The welcome rains gave me cause to investigate the rivers in search of steelhead. I didn’t connect into any metal but found a few other willing players.
Dead drifted single beads under a thingamabobber was the set up. Low fish returns and overall lack of anglers on the banks left me to believe the bulk of the run had come and gone. I did see one other fellow who was working the waters below the spillway for some time. After about an hour and half he pulled out revealing a nice chrome brat he likely picked up in the earlier hours.
It wasn’t a complete loss as I was able to pick up 3 trout that were holding in the classic runs waiting for the steelhead to return. They were all skinny, but very silvery.
The river was in perfect shape compared with the Snoqualmie and the raging river.
