This year’s coho run in area 12 has been pretty good despite the poor returns everywhere else. Jeff and I explored some new water and found a few willing players. While we didn’t find coho that day we did find a spot that unexpectedly held some nice rockfish and ling cod. Jeff hooked what he believed to be the largest fish he’s ever encountered with the fly rod.
A fish so large we never got a look at it and one that doubled over his rod like a Carne asada street taco. It was downright hot and we both got a sun tan.
The next day I set out to find some coho and came up fortunate to find a couple of willing hens. The largest about 12#.
The neighborhood hosted a pig roast potluck too. We are really eating and living well off the fat of the land and sea!
