David K. invited us out for another beautiful day on the sound. We met in Edmonds at 05:45 for a prompt push off the dock and motored over to the shipping lanes.
It was pretty dark out but once we got our gear dropped we could see a couple dozen boats already working their trolls.
Dov had the first fish on with the deep 6 diver, flasher and white hootchie with ace hi insert. A decent hen of 6-7#.
The bite would come quickly around 7 am and we put 4 fish into the box. David and I even had a double!
We pounded it trying to scratch out our last two, but only ended up with one more. The Heartbreaker was David’s lost fish which appeared to be a large hook nose that was peeling line like mad. We never got to see it, but it was one wild and crazy fighter.
We’re gonna try and ride this as long as we can. Good times, close run, and sometimes the fishing can be very hot and heavy.
