I had some business in the south end and ended up near the Soos Creek hatchery. I decided to pay a visit to see how the fish counts were in the creek and in the retention pond. The WDFW staff were in the process of harvesting adult king salmon to fertilize their eggs. I was surprised to see the pond chocked full of so many nice sized king salmon. Hopefully, the progeny will stick and provide strong returns in the future.
